I love this book!

I'm a first-year radiology resident and am rotating through MSK right now. My attending suggested this book to me, as did more senior residents in my program, so I figured it was worth a shot.
The thing that I love the most about this book is its informal tone. There have been times when I've caught myself laughing out loud because of a funny story that Helms relates. He's not shy about using mnemonics, either, which is different from most text books --- it's nice to have an acronym to assist with memorizing, say, the bajillion causes of lytic bone lesions. It feels like an easy read because I'm not trudging through endless text about anatomical relationships and the finer details of MR sequences. I don't deny that those things are important to learn. They are. However, for a novice like myself, I think it's best to start with a more simplistic book geared toward mastering the basics. The fine details can (and will) come later with more advanced books as you progress through your residency training.
Anyway, in summary, this is an excellent read for a beginning radiology resident!

GREAT READ FOR ROTATING MED STUDENTS AND RESIDENTS--NOT A SNORE FEST TEXTBOOK, OLDER EDITIONS HAVE BETTER QUALITY IMAGE/PAPER

Great book for a medical student rotating through Radiology with the mneumonics and easy way to learn this book format teaches. It is NOT a textbook snorefest. I saw residents in the department with it so tried a copy I found laying in the lounge and decided to buy one for myself. Due to BUDGET, I bought it used. The older editions seem to have a better quality of image and paper.
DON'T ORDER A USED BOOK FROM GOODWILL. They are always cheapest BUT THE SHIPPING TOOK 6 WEEKS.
